Time for my 2nd blog post! This one’s (almost) all about media.
So I got in touch with Dave from ultimatephotos.org and he has kindly allowed me to post a couple of his professionally taken (and very well-timed) shots. These are from a couple of years ago from the National UK Tour events:
These 2 might explain some of my back and neck problems. When I first saw Mike from Align Chiropractic he asked me if I’d been in a road traffic accident because of the alignment of my neck. I said no, but I wondered if repeated whiplash like in these photos could cause the same effect. There may be an underlying problem, but this can certainly contribute…
Next up, one of my team-mates Beccie, who lives in Norwich came down to Brighton and we were able to video our form doing deadlifts (which puts some strain on my lower back, let’s say I can always ‘feel’ them). Feedback from the gym personal trainer and Mike was quite positive, but I will continue to keep a straight back and weight on my heels by "wiggling the toes", excellent top tip from the guy at the gym. So here is a sample of the kind of weight-training we do:
Finally a team photo from our GB team which won silver at the European championships last August, (I'm on the right). More photos from the final, here.
That's it for this quick update, but watch this space for my next little article.
